It was in the 1970s that pump industrialists expressed the need for unity of forces in solving sectoral problems and put this forward together in exhibitions and conferences. However, the maturation required for a sectoral organization and the inevitability of this unity took place in the 1990s, when the importance of exports and opening up to the outside was better understood and externally oriented production activities came to the fore.
