Ganesh Puja

Ganesh Pooja

Ganesh Puja is a Hindu ritual dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed god of wisdom and prosperity. It is performed for the blessings of Lord Ganesha and to remove any obstacles or hindrances in one’s life. The Puja is usually performed at the beginning of a new venture, during festivals, or before starting any important work. The ritual involves the creation of a sacred space, the installation of a Ganesha idol or picture, the offering of flowers, fruits, sweets, and other auspicious items, and the recitation of mantras and prayers. Some of the common mantras recited during the Ganesh Puja are “Om Gam Ganapataye Namah” and “Vakratunda Mahakaya.”

The Puja is usually performed by a Hindu priest or by the head of the household, who acts as the main performer of the ritual. All members of the family or those participating in the Puja are expected to participate in the chanting of mantras and offerings of flowers and fruits. Ganesh Puja is an important aspect of Hindu culture and spirituality, and is widely practised across India and among Hindu communities worldwide.
