Halloween – Trick or Treat

Halloween - Trick or Treat

Halloween is celebrated every year on October 31. Originally, people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts during the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. The eighth century was the period when Pope Gregory III declared November 1 the day for honouring all saints. Eventually, Samhain’s traditions found their way into “All Saints Day.” Halloween is celebrated on All Hallows Eve, the night before All Saints Day. Historically, Halloween has involved trick-or-treating, carving jack-o-lanterns, a festive gathering, dressing up, and eating sweets.
