Job Summary
The Design Engineer is responsible for executing engineering and design activities for customer orders, ensuring that all product specifications, documentation, and technical requirements are delivered accurately and on time. This role includes preparing and reviewing part drawings, 3D models, and engineering calculations, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and certification requirements such as PED, CE, and API 6D. The engineer collaborates with internal departments—including sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality—to resolve technical issues and support the order lifecycle from inquiry to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, review, and document part drawings, 3D part models, and engineering calculations in accordance with order specifications.
Create, maintain, and update technical folders and certification documents, including PED, API 6D, and CE-marking files.
Provide technical support to internal and intercompany sales teams on RFQs and customer inquiries.
Assist manufacturing teams, subcontractors, purchasing, and PED representatives in resolving technical challenges.
Utilize SolidWorks and PDM-Windchill for 2D detailing and 3D modeling tasks.
Work within ERP/MRP systems to manage order-related information and product data.
Apply strong understanding of materials, their properties, and suitability for valve components.
Interpret and implement design practices based on ASME Code, valve design standards, and customer specifications.
Maintain awareness of manufacturing processes and design considerations related to isolation valves.
Ensure compliance with QMS requirements, including ISO 9001 and API Spec Q1.
Ensure adherence to CE and PED regulations throughout the design and documentation process.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E. or equivalent) with at least 3 years of experience in valve design.
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in SolidWorks modeling and detailing.
At least 2 years of experience in the valve industry.
Familiarity with QA/QMS systems is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of materials and their applications is beneficial.
