Role Overview
The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating high-quality engineering designs, drawings, and documentation for Flowserve’s engineered products. This role plays a critical part in driving product excellence, process improvements, and customer satisfaction through collaboration, innovation, and adherence to engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed designs, drawings, and engineering documents using CAD tools (SolidWorks and DraftSight preferred).
Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing drawings for engineered products.
Conduct basic design calculations to ensure compliance with engineering standards and specifications.
Identify and implement design improvements, new standards, and procedural documentation.
Take ownership of assigned engineering activities and ensure timely delivery of all project documentation.
Collaborate closely with Business Units (BUs) and GTEC Engineers to enhance customer satisfaction and employee engagement.
Work effectively with project teams to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
Follow Flowserve’s engineering best practices, design standards, and quality protocols.
Partner with other Design Engineers to promptly investigate and resolve shop floor design or quality issues; document findings and implement cost-effective, permanent solutions.
Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers as needed.
Ensure on-time delivery of engineering deliverables and secure necessary approvals at the first submission.
Maintain accuracy, quality, and timeliness in all customer-facing documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
0–2 years of relevant engineering or design experience.
Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and 3D modeling software (SolidWorks and DraftSight preferred).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
Good planning, time management, and organizational abilities.
Knowledge of engineering documentation, drafting, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing principles.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal, with professional business communication skills.
