Role Summary

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of machines and tools to perform routine production tasks. This role involves installation, setup, inspection, and operation of manual or computer-controlled equipment, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and skilled in basic mechanical operations.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, and maintain production machines and related equipment.

Use hand tools and measuring instruments to complete production and maintenance tasks.

Move materials and components between work areas using forklifts or power lift trucks.

Ensure a smooth and efficient production flow by identifying and resolving basic technical or process issues.

Perform visual inspections and verify parts against specifications.

Follow detailed verbal and written work instructions, route sheets, and blueprints.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, company policies, and operational standards.

Train new machine operators when required.

Demonstrate high levels of organization, teamwork, and self-motivation.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED or equivalent.

0–2 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment.

Basic knowledge of shop math and mechanical principles.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive motion tasks.

Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain).

Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Basic computer literacy.

Preferred Experience / Skills

Experience operating machining equipment or similar industrial machinery.

Familiarity with precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges).

Proven ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
