Role Overview:
As an Order Engineering Intern, your time will be split between supporting the generation of mechanical seal design solutions and contributing to engineering improvement projects that help ensure our products continue to exceed customer expectations.
This internship offers exposure to a wide variety of tasks, working closely with engineers and designers in the Order Engineering team. Example tasks include product design optimization, process improvement, standardization and documentation projects, enhancing engineering tools, and collaborating with the operations team to ensure the timely shipment of quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
Under supervision, create or revise bills of materials (BOMs), basic assemblies, and part detail drawings following best practices for tolerances and GD&T.
Support engineering and design tasks related to new seal orders, proposals, and change revisions.
Apply Lean principles and tools to improve engineering processes.
Identify, specify, and complete special product-related projects within the department.
Provide project management, engineering, and design support for manufacturing and product testing projects.
Lead and support Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) initiatives.
Requirements:
Currently pursuing a BS in Engineering Design Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related degree.
Within the final 2 years of completing the degree.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Familiarity with SolidWorks is highly desirable.
Strong computer skills, especially proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Project management knowledge and experience are a plus.
Effective communicator in a team environment.
Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
