Pump Repair Technician

Role Summary

The DCI Repair Technician is responsible for performing the dismantle, clean, and inspect (DCI) processes for all pumps—whether for repair, upgrade, or decoking equipment. This role involves precision measurement, accurate documentation, and high-quality reassembly to ensure Flowserve’s standards for performance, reliability, and safety are consistently met.

This is a Second Shift position: Monday–Friday, 4:30 PM–1:00 AM, with overtime required as needed, including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities

Follow instructions provided during pre-job briefings and complete all relevant checklists, routers, and documentation.

Clean and inspect reusable parts, documenting their condition clearly and accurately.

Utilize appropriate tools, including hand torches and liquid nitrogen, during the teardown process.

Disassemble products to repair, replace, or upgrade defective or worn parts as necessary.

Perform precise component and assembly inspections using precision measuring tools and document results thoroughly.

Clean and prepare pump components by removing dirt, grease, and contaminants before reassembly.

Apply primer and finish coatings to pump exteriors and parts using spray equipment when required.

Capture and maintain photographic documentation of component condition and repair progress.

Adhere to manufacturing, reporting, and quality assurance systems, ensuring compliance with Flowserve standards.

Identify and report quality-related issues, creating Non-Conformity Reports and assisting in implementing corrective actions.

Communicate professionally with production planners, engineers, operations teams, and customers regarding component and pump conditions.

Collaborate effectively with sales, operations, and engineering teams to ensure customer requirements are met.

Promote teamwork, proactive decision-making, problem-solving, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational goals.

Required Qualifications

Experience with pumps or heavy machinery, including centrifugal pump systems.

Proven pump repair and rotating machinery mechanic experience.

Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Ability to dismantle, inspect, and repair pumps according to company standards.

Must own a personal set of mechanic’s tools, micrometers, and a roll-around toolbox.

Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Willingness to work night shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
