Job Summary
The QA Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality control programs across the organization. This position is responsible for translating customer requirements and industry standards into clear product and process criteria, developing control plans, and ensuring execution across production and supply chain activities. The role also involves addressing daily quality challenges across manufacturing operations, customer locations, and supplier facilities while driving continuous improvement in product performance and process reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate with production teams to schedule and perform incoming material inspections and in-process quality checks.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers and third-party inspectors.
Participate in supplier audits and external quality testing to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
Contribute to Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) initiatives and support Lean quality enhancement activities.
Track and analyze product quality KPIs, identifying gaps and implementing corrective and preventive actions (RCAs/CPAs).
Manage customer witness inspections and ensure all quality checkpoints are met.
Maintain detailed quality data, perform analysis, and provide insights to management on product or process performance.
Raise awareness among leadership regarding improvement opportunities and collaborate on strategies to realize them.
Work with internal departments to clarify and resolve technical issues related to quality control processes.
Prepare and deliver all documentation required under the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), coordinating with internal teams and resolving customer documentation queries.
Perform additional quality-related duties as needed.
Preferred Experience & Skills
Strong background in engineering with practical application of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Experience working in a quality control department within a manufacturing environment.
Solid understanding of product and process flow.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering with approximately 15 years of relevant industry experience.
