Regional Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager

Role Summary

The Regional Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Affairs Manager leads HSE initiatives across manufacturing and service facilities within an assigned geographic area. This role is critical in advancing Flowserve’s people-first culture by promoting safety beyond compliance, strengthening accountability, and cultivating an engaged and proactive HSE mindset. The successful candidate will partner closely with regional leaders to enhance HSE systems, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible operations.

Responsibilities

Oversee regional implementation of Flowserve’s HSE policies and procedures while ensuring alignment with local regulatory requirements.

Promote a strong safety culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across all sites.

Provide strategic direction and technical guidance for HSE programs, ensuring consistent and standardized execution.

Assess risks, analyze incident trends, and support the development of preventive action plans and lessons-learned programs.

Support and supervise incident and accident investigations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions comply with the Accountability Matrix.

Conduct regular audits and assessments of manufacturing and service facilities to verify compliance with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and operational policies.

Lead follow-up discussions with regional teams to share best practices, reinforce expectations, and monitor site responses to safety alerts and improvement initiatives.

Participate in regional management reviews, presenting updates on HSE strategy, performance metrics, and key operational indicators.

Monitor emerging regulations, evaluate operational impacts, and develop regional action plans to ensure compliance and readiness.

Oversee environmental remediation and cleanup projects at company sites.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Ability to travel internationally up to approximately 30%.

Proven experience with occupational health, safety, and environmental management systems.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to lead by example.

Ability to work effectively within multinational, matrixed organizations.

Preferred Experience / Skills

Extensive progressive HSE experience in industrial settings, preferably within large-scale manufacturing operations.

Strong leadership skills including strategic planning, proactivity, analytical thinking, organizational ability, and change-management capability.

Demonstrated problem-solving strengths and the ability to motivate, coach, and mentor teams.

Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
