Position Overview

This role supports the planning, design, and management of water system projects and capital improvements. The selected candidate will provide technical expertise, manage complex projects, and support system expansion efforts to ensure reliable and efficient water service.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) and water system improvements.

Conduct hydraulic modeling, system analysis, and technical studies.

Review land development and construction plans for compliance with water system standards.

Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other agencies.

Support planning, budgeting, and reporting for capital and special projects.

Communicate effectively with staff, contractors, and the public.

Mentor and provide guidance to engineering staff (Senior Engineer).

Qualifications
Staff Engineer II

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

7+ years of progressive engineering experience (4+ in water utilities).

PE license in Oregon (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

Skilled in hydraulic modeling (3+ years), GIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.

Proven ability to manage capital projects and read technical drawings.

Senior Engineer

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

10+ years of engineering experience (7+ in water utilities).

PE license in Oregon (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

Expertise in hydraulic modeling (5+ years) and water system design and planning.

Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.

Additional Information

Valid Oregon Driver’s License (or ability to obtain within 90 days).

Typical work includes office and field activities with light physical requirements (lifting up to 20 lbs).
