The 44th edition of Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE), the premier biennial trade fair for HVAC+R, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water systems, has officially concluded at Fiera Milano. The event reaffirmed its status as a leading global platform, drawing over 120,000 visitors from 123 countries and bringing together more than 1,600 exhibitors.
A Truly Global Gathering
International participation reached new heights this year, with over 35% of visitors traveling from outside Italy. A notable 38,000 attendees came from 123 nations, marking a 6% increase compared to the previous edition. Companies from 49 countries showcased their innovations, with particularly strong representation from the Middle East.
Economic Significance of the Sector
A strategic report produced by TEHA Group (The European House – Ambrosetti) highlighted the substantial economic weight of the HVAC+R and water systems industry in Italy. The sector is estimated to generate approximately €83 billion in revenues, €27 billion in added value, and support around 400,000 jobs nationally—underscoring the critical role events like MCE play in driving business and innovation.
Knowledge-Sharing and Industry Trends
Beyond the exhibition floor, MCE 2026 offered a robust conference program tackling key topics shaping the industry’s future. Sessions covered regulatory developments, upcoming incentive frameworks such as Conto Termico 3.0, the implementation of European EPBD IV directives, the global outlook for heat pump technology, and the growing integration of digitalization with HVAC systems.
Massimiliano Pierini, Managing Director of RX Italy, reflected on the event’s evolution: “The fair has been evolving for six decades, adapting continuously to market changes and supporting industry transitions in both energy and environmental terms.”
