Metso is seeing strong global momentum for its Life Cycle Services (LCS) for pumps, as industries increasingly shift toward long-term, performance-based service models instead of traditional equipment purchases.
Since launching the offering in 2025, the company has secured multiple multiyear contracts across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas, highlighting growing demand for solutions that improve reliability and reduce operational risks.
A key milestone came recently when Metso signed two five-year agreements to service more than 100 slurry pumps for mining customers. These contracts reflect a broader industry trend where operators prefer predictable costs and continuous support throughout the equipment lifecycle.
Unlike traditional service models, Metso’s LCS approach focuses on end-to-end performance—from installation and maintenance to optimization and upgrades. This helps customers:
- Improve pump availability and reliability
- Extend component wear life
- Reduce unplanned downtime and maintenance costs
In fact, early results show measurable benefits, including:
- 5–10% increase in pump availability
- 15–25% longer component life
- 20–30% reduction in unplanned downtime
The growing adoption of lifecycle services also reflects a shift in mindset across the mining and industrial sectors. Companies are moving away from one-time purchases and instead looking for long-term partnerships that ensure consistent performance, safety, and efficiency.
With a strong global service network and increasing number of contracts, Metso’s LCS model is emerging as a key solution for optimizing pump performance while lowering total cost of ownership.
