Palitana Jain Temple is a major pilgrimage site for Jains, located in Palitana town in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat, India. It is considered to be one of the most sacred sites in Jainism, and is known for its numerous marble temples, dedicated to different Tirthankaras.

The Palitana temple complex is situated on Shatrunjaya hill, which is believed to be the site of the first Tirthankara’s attainment of enlightenment. The temples were built over a period of 900 years, with the earliest temple dating back to the 11th century.

The temple complex consists of more than 800 temples, with the main temple being the Shri Adishwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Adinath, the first Tirthankara. The temple is built in white marble and has intricate carvings and sculptures depicting Jain legends and deities.

To reach the temple complex, visitors must climb over 3,800 steps from the base of the hill. However, there are also palanquins available for those who cannot climb the stairs.
