The third Pravasi Bharatiya Divas took place in Mumbai, Maharashtra, from January 7 to 11, 2005. On January 7, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will open the three-day Pravasi Bhartiya Divas in Mumbai, and on January 9, at the closing ceremony, President APJ Abdul Kalam will present the awards. The meet is being attended by over 1900 delegates, including 1400 overseas Indians from 60 different countries. According to the minister, this year’s format is “very focused and businesslike.”
