Semiya Payasam

Ingredients:

  • semiya – 1 cup
  • Milk – 1 litre
  • Sugar – ¾ cup or to taste
  • Ghee – to fry
  • Cashew nuts – 2 tbsp
  • Raisins – 1 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp

Preparation

  • Fry cashew nuts and raisins in ghee.
  • Fry vermicelli in ghee, until golden brown and keep it aside.
  • Boil the milk.
  • Add fried vermicelli and cook for 8 – 10 mins.
  • Add sugar, fried raisins, fried cashewnuts and cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Boil for 2 – 3 mins. Serve hot or cold.
