Selection of an acceptance grade determines the performance tolerance of a pump agreed upon by the user and the manufacturer. The acceptance grade chosen should be based on the requirements of the user’s application. The acceptance grade selected can also affect the cost of the pump. This paper highlights the importance of selecting the appropriate acceptance grade for pump performance testing to satisfy the needs of its intended service.
